No. 12 Southern Magnolia

The magnolia is the state flower of both South Carolina and Louisiana, and every Southerner has an opinion about which state does it better. This one's ours: creamy magnolia at the heart, ripe fruit up front — honeydew, apple, peach — and a base of balsam and sandalwood that settles the whole thing down.
