Kiawah Island

Kiawah is the manicured one — private clubs, cordgrass, bicycles on hard sand, a heron every fifty feet. The candle sits somewhere polished: ozone and mandarin at the top, rose and lily through the middle, and a base of amber, powder, and honey that goes soft rather than sharp.
