Our story
The Warehouse opened in 2017 on State Street, in West Columbia's River District, with a simple idea: put consignment furniture, original local art and one-of-a-kind finds under one roof.
Before that, our owner Jay spent 24 years in the wholesale business, working with everyone from small mom-and-pop shops to Anthropologie and Cracker Barrel. You can see that experience in every corner, and in the building itself. Jay tore down a barn in North Carolina and brought the wood home for our walls, and old roof boards became our countertops.
More than a store
People bring their out-of-town friends here just to show it off. One customer told us she came in on her worst day and left feeling better, the way she always does. She calls it her happy place. We'll take that.
And then there's the lion. One rainy day a man pulled up in a Prius, opened the hatchback, and there he was: a 400-pound taxidermy lion. It took four people to carry him inside. He lives here now, and the kids love him.
Why local matters
We work with more than 100 local artists: painters, photographers, potters, sculptors, woodworkers and candle makers, with new artists joining every month. We host maker markets and art events, and we partner with artist guilds in Cayce and West Columbia.
The River District is one of the last places around where every business is independently owned, and we're proud to be part of it.
We're here to help
Downsizing, moving a parent into assisted living, or settling an estate? We help families through it, one piece at a time. We also help furnish student apartments, decorate for the holidays, stage homes for sale and restore furniture.
